Can I rent textbooks?

Note: Renting textbooks is only available to UCLA School of Law

Renting textbooks is a great option for students who want to:

  • Save money: Rentals typically cost less than purchasing a new textbook.
  • Lighten their load: No need to carry heavy textbooks around all semester.
  • Avoid buyback hassles: You don't have to worry about selling your book back at the end of the term.

Here are the details about renting textbooks at UCLA Store:

  • Availability: This program is only available for UCLA School of Law titles.
  • Returns: Rental books must be returned to the service counter at Lu Valle Common Store by the Monday following finals week.
  • Condition: Marking and highlighting must be kept to a minimum. Damaged or unreturned books will incur replacement fees.
  • Agreement: Click here to view Rental Agreement for complete terms and conditions.

Is renting right for you? Consider renting textbooks if you meet the following criteria:

  • You are enrolled in UCLA School of Law.
  • You only need the textbook for the current semester.
